Activision Blizzard has sponsored the wolverine enclosure at the Edinburgh Zoo for one year to celebrate the launch of X-Men Origins: Wolverine in the UK this past Friday.
The lead male wolverine at the Zoo has also had his name changed to Logan after the popular Marvel character portrayed by Hugh Jackman in Twentieth Century Fox’s film of the same name. Edinburgh Zoo has the only wolverines in the UK and this sponsorship will ensure that the breeding programme will continue into 2010.
X-Men Origins: Wolverine is available now on the PS3, Xbox 360, Wii, PC, PSP, PS2 and DS. For more information about the game check out our previous coverage.
“What better way is there to pay homage to the mighty Wolverine by making sure his real life cousins are cared for during the next year? commented Aruna Sinha, Senior Brand Manager of Activision. “With wolverines an endangered species, we see Wolverine having a major role in helping people become more aware of these wonderful creatures and ensuring their survival for many years to come.”
