New Pirates of the Caribbean game in development

Disney Interactive Studios has announced that a new Pirates of the Caribbean game is in development at Propaganda Games. Titled Pirates of the Caribbean: Armada of the Damned, the new action RPG will feature an original story set within the Pirates of the Caribbean universe made popular by Johnny Depp (Captain Jack Sparrow), Orlando Bloom (Will Turner) and Keira Knightley (Elizabeth Swann) who starred in the multimillion dollar movies.

Set before the events of the films, Armada of the Damned sees players taking on the role of a pirate and embarking on various land and sea adventures. The character and story will be affected by the moral and character choices players make along the way. You can also expect to encounter mystical creatures and supernatural elements familiar to the Pirates of the Caribbean world that will affect the way the story unfolds.

Armada of the Damned is scheduled to be released in autumn 2010 for next-generation consoles and PC.

“Armada of the Damned is a dynamic action role-playing game that captures all of the franchise’s excitement, unpredictability and action while delving into narrative elements never before explored within this unique universe,” said Dan Tudge, vice president and general manager, Propaganda Games. “Our team’s collective experience with industry-leading RPGs and action titles provides a strong foundation for us to create and build a compelling action role-playing title.”
