Activision has announced that Guitar Hero 5 will be released for the Xbox 360, PS3, Wii and PS2 on the 1st of September. The date was revealed on the freshly launched Guitar Hero 5 website.
We already know that Guitar Hero 5 will feature 85 master recordings when the game hits shelves and that the entire set list will be available from the start. Artists such as Kings of Leon, The Rolling Stones, The White Stripes, Vampire Weekend, Tom Petty, Bob Dylan and Johnny Cash will be included in the tracklist. Over 25 artists from different music genres will also make their music videogame debut.
Players will be able to play with any in-game instrument combination, multiple vocalists, guitarists, bassists or drummers, in any game mode. The new Party Play Mode allows players to jump in or drop out of gameplay easily, without interrupting the music.

Comments:
Finally! They gave a date when this will be released. I'm eager to find if the tracks would disappoint me or not. But until then, I guess I'd still enjoy playing my Death Knight.
"the entire set list will be available from the start" . Finally!!! It only took about 8 iterations of Guitar Hero for them to figure this out. Also, The White Stripes! Johnny Cash! Rad.
