Sumthing Else Music Works, in collaboration with Capcom, have announced that the Resident Evil 5 Original Soundtrack is now available at retailers and as a digital download.
The soundtrack features the original music score from Resident Evil 5, which was laboured over by the game’s lead composer, Kota Suzuki. Suzuki comments on the development of the soundtrack, and his approach to the music, saying:
“As the look of the game has changed from the previous series, I spent many hours trying to figure out how to approach it with music,” says Suzuki. “We tend to relate horror with darkness, but this time the game takes place in Africa with a blazing hot sun.
“I contemplated on how I could stir the player’s emotion,” continues Suzuki, “by music embodying two opposite elements. After much trial and error, the director came up with a key phrase ‘panic horror.’ And from there, I put my focus on panic-stricken music for the players. In fact, I did often get panicky while playing this game myself.”
Hopefully you can feel this ‘panic horror’ when you’re listening to the soundtrack. Check out Sumthing Else’s distribution website, as well as Sumthing Digital’s website, for more information on ordering and buying the Resident Evil 5 Original Soundtrack.
