Guitar Hero 5 detailed, out this Fall

Guitar Hero 5, the latest installment of Activision’s popular rhythm game series, will feature 85 master recording when the game hits shelves this fall.

Artists such as Kings of Leon, The Rolling Stones, The White Stripes, Vampire Weekend, Tom Petty, Bob Dylan and Johnny Cash will be included in the tracklist. Over 25 artists from different music genres will also make their music videogame debut.

For the first time ever, players will be able to customize the make-up of their band by rocking with any combination of instruments in-game. Any combination is possible, whether it be two guitars and two drums or three guitars and one microphone.

The game will include easy-to-use gameplay modes including Party Play and RockFest. Party Play lets players jump in or drop out of gameplay while RockFest includes five new head-to-head modes, playable either online or offline. Players will also be able to play the entire setlist from the start. Downloadable content from Guitar Hero: World Tour will also be compatible with the game and will automatically be updated to include all the upgrades and enhancements of Guitar Hero 5.

Guitar Hero 5 promises to deliver a refined player experience as well as an enhanced art style and redesigned core features including the GHMusic Studio. The game will also feature new innovations including Band Moments where bands are rewarded for hitting special note streams together and song challenges where gamers must play through a song a specific way.

Guitar Hero 5 will be available for the Xbox 360, PS3, Wii and PS2 this fall.
