Free DLC and game update heading to MotorStorm: Pacific Rift

Owners of the excellently exotic off-road racer, MotorStorm: Pacific Rift should be scrambling for their game disc because Sony and the game’s developers, Evolution, have just released an update for the game, featuring “a number of useful fixes and updates,” including:

  • Sugar Rush short-cut removed – The short-cut to the left of the “keep right” arrows going into the sugar field was not intentionally included and has been removed
  • Sugar Rush respawn point fixed – Crashing at a certain point on the track no longer respawns the vehicle in a generous position
  • Inclusion of Microbadges (“in-game displayable ‘medals’ which let you flaunt your proudest personal accomplishments and your off-road racing prowess to every other racer online.”)

Additionally, starting today, Evolution will be releasing new sets of downloadable content (DLC) for the next eight weeks - each pack of DLC released will contain new paintjobs for three vehicles, so over the next two months, you’re going to be getting a ton of free vehicle livery.

A 415 MB update for "microbadges". How ironic.

I'm still holding grudge for Motorstorm not once but twice corrupting my game save. This was before the patch that allowed you to export the save to an external device.
