Majesco Entertainment have announced that their successful virtual cooking game franchise, Cooking Mama, has sold over four million copies in the US alone. Chief Executive Officer at Majesco, Jesse Sutton said of the achievement:
“We are thrilled to reach this significant milestone. Majesco’s #1 franchise continues to resonate with gamers of all ages and genders.
“We will continue to explore ways to expand the Mama brand with innovative and compelling products that offer new entertainment experiences.”
The Cooking Mama franchise, which comprises five games on Wii and DS (namely Cooking Mama and Cooking Mama 2 on DS, Cooking Mama: Cook Off and Cooking Mama World Kitchen on the Wii, as well as Gardening Mama on the DS), was originally developed by a Japanese studio called Office Create, but after the success of the series, is now only known as Cooking Mama Ltd.
