It’s been announced via an interview with MCV that Ubisoft will be dropping their annual Ubidays press event for 2009, in favour of refocusing their efforts on E3 this year. The two-day expo has previously seen over 1000 journalists and industry executives visit the show, while 2008’s event was held in the Louvre museum.
A spokesperson for Ubisoft said; “With regards to Ubidays, with the E3 event in the US, the GamesCom in Europe and Tokyo Games Show in Japan, we think that we’ll have great outlets to present our creativity and innovation to a worldwide audience and will therefore reconsider our plans. There won’t be a Ubidays this year.”
Ubisoft follow both SEGA and THQ in dropping their joint publisher-specific press event, the Business Partners Summit, which has also seen two years of successful operation.
Look forward to E3 and the Tokyo Games Show instead, then.
