Well, gamers in the UK must really like Wii Fit, because it’s still dominating the UK All Formats Software chart, now in its fourth consecutive week at the top, despite a drop in sales of 11%.
This week at the top also marks Wii Fit’s thirteenth No. 1 appearance since it launched, gradually moving towards the record of 18 weeks at No. 1 on the UK chart, originally set by the quiz game, Who Want to Be a Millionaire, from Eidos in 2000.
Thankfully, a new face is introduced to the UK chart this week in the form of The Chronicles of Riddick: Assault on Dark Athena, debuting in the chart at No. 2. The Godfather II (sales down by 48%) drops to No. 3 from No. 2 this week, while Fifa 09 (sales down 25%) makes a similar fall down to No. 4 from No. 3.
Incredibly, the rest of the Top Ten charters haven’t moved since last week, as Resident Evil 5 remains at No. 5 (sales down 17%), Professor Layton and the Curios Village sticking at No. 6 (sales down 31%), Mario Kart Wii doesn’t budge at No. 7 (sales down 32%), Wii Play is a non-mover at No. 8 (sales down 27%), Call of Duty: World at War fastens itself to the No. 9 position (sales down 29%) and Carnival: Funfair Games stick fuses with the No. 10 position (sales down 25%).
(Other) interesting movement on the chart this week includes Mario & Sonic at the Olympic Games crashing to No. 11 from No. 4 last week, My Fitness Coach sliding up to No. 14 this week from No. 23, SEGA Mega Drive: Ultimate Collection moving up to No. 15 from No. 25, Killzone 2 hiking up to No. 21 from No. 28 last week, Wheelman dropping to No. 22 from No. 16, Street Fighter IV taking a walk down to No. 25 this week from No. 12, Football Manager 2009 leaping up to No. 26 from No. 38 last week, and Tom Clancy’s HAWX crashing down to No. 35 from No. 24 last week.
