Tower defense game Comet Crash will be landing on the PlayStation Network today for $9.99.

The game is touted to take “real-time strategy to a new level by blending classical tower defense gameplay with offensive counterattacks and dynamic AI.” Players will be able to choose from a variety of weapons to defend their territory, making use of specialized units to fight off attacks, all the while building up an army to rush the enemy.

The Campaign Mode features 28 stages and up to 3 players can participate in offline co-op play in this mode, choosing from three difficulty levels. Comet Crash also features an offline Battle mode where players can play against up to 4 friends. Configure teams however you want and choose between 12 different maps. The game also includes a training stage to shine up our skills.

According to John Bates, President of developer Pelfast, although Comet Crash comes from traditional tower defense games, it has some exciting twists too!

“Generally in tower defense games, you build up weapons to protect your base from oncoming rushes of enemies. Killing enemy swarms is a lot of fun, but isn’t it time to take out the nest? In Comet Crash, you use a variety of weapons to defend against enemy rushes, and you get the chance to fight back. The real objective is to rush the enemy base with your own offensive army!”
