Namco Bandai’s Super Robot Taisen K for the DS has debuted at the top of the Media Create Japanese software chart, selling 117 000 copies, more than double that of its nearest competitor.

The Top 3 is dominated by new entries this week, Konami’s Jikkyou Powerful Pro Yakyuu 2009 for the PS2 enters the chart at number 2 with 50 000 copies while the Wii version of the game is new at number 9 with 22 000 copies. Enterbrain’s Amagami for the PS2 debuts at number 3 with 42 000 copies.

Nintendo’s Mario & Luigi RPG 3 for the DS hangs on to fourth place with 39 000 copies, with life-to-date sales just short of the half a million mark, 428 000 copies. Koei’s Musou Orochi Z for the PS3 drops to number 5 with 36 000 copies after debuting in first place last week while Capcom’s Resident Evil 5 for the PS3 moves down four places to number 6 with 29 000 copies.

Nintendo’s Picross 3D is at number 7 with 24 000 copies after debuting last week at number 3 while Capcom’s Monster Hunter Portable 2G (PSP the Best) gains one place to finish eighth with 23 000 copies. Koei’s Shin Sangoku Musou: Multi Raid rounds off the Top 10, down five places to number 10 with 19 000 copies.

Wii Play: Pikmin 2 drops to number 16 after debuting at number 6 last week while Yakuza 3 moves down from number 7 to number 18 this week. Seventh Dragon for the DS tumbles from last week’s number 8 to number 26 while Resistance: Retribution plummets to number 28 after entering the charts at number 10 last week.
