The new set of downloadable content for Fallout 3, The Pitt, was pulled from Xbox Live yesterday after reports surfaced that the English version on Xbox Live was corrupted.
According to a post on Bethesda Softworks blog, “We are continuing to look into the issues people are experiencing with The Pitt for Xbox 360. As of now it looks like the file for the English version on Xbox Live was somehow corrupted.”
“We are currently working with Microsoft to remove the existing file off of Live to prevent any further downloads. Our plan is to replace it with a new file as soon as possible. We hope to have another update for you shortly.”
Since then the blog has been updated to say that the team was doing final checks late last night and if everything looks ok the DLC will be back up and available today.
Major Nelson confirmed that “We have a team of people working with Bethesda on the availability of The Pitt and we will re-post an updated version on Xbox LIVE Marketplace as soon as possible.”
However, take note that “For anyone who purchased the initial version of The Pitt, you’ll need to delete the title from your storage device and re-download the final version once it’s available.”
The Pitt will cost 800 Microsoft Points and sees players traveling to the ruins of Pittsburgh. Here you will “battle vicious mutated Trogs, employ deadly new weapons like the AutoAxe and Infiltrator silenced assault rifle, and decide the fate of the infected slaves and slavers that call this city home.”
