Chart Track UK Software Sales for week ending 21/03: Resi 5 still tops

Just in case you were wondering about how well Resident Evil 5 is selling in the UK, you needn’t worry, as it’s still at the top of Chart Track’s UK Software Sales Chart, despite a 52% drop in sales from the week previous.

Another non-mover, Wii Fit (9% sales drop), sits resistant at No. 2, closing the sales ratio between itself and Resident Evil 5, from 5 : 1 down to 2.7 : 1. Professor Layton and the Curious Village, meanwhile, moves up to No. 3 from No. 4 last week

Making its debut this week, WWE Legends of Wrestlemania slots in at No. 4 on its first try at the chart, with sales split evenly between Xbox 360 and PS3, while Tom Clancy’s HAWX slides down to No. 5 from No. 3 last week. Another debut title this week, Grand Theft Auto: Chinatown Wars, manages a No. 6 position, although it’s not able to match the launch week sales performance of the previous GTA handheld game, Vice City Stories on PSP.

A retailer promotion sees Street Fighter IV (sales up 48%) re-enter the Top Ten, moving up to No. 7 this week from No. 13. Dr. Kawashima’s Brain training (sales up 117%) launches itself to No. 8 from No. 21 last week, thanks to a Mother’s Day promotion for the turquoise DS Lite Starter Pack, which comes bundled with the game.

Fifa ’09 charts at No. 9 this week, down from No. 6, while Call of Duty: World at War slumps down to No. 10 from No. 7 last week.

Other interesting movement on the chart this week includes Killzone 2 moving out of the Top Ten, slipping down to No. 11 from No. 5 last week, Puzzler Collection shooting up to No. 12 this week from No. 29, Call of Duty 4: Modern Warfare moving up to No. 15 from No. 27, Empire: Total War dropping a long way to No. 18 from No. 8 last week, Halo Wars making a similar drop down to No. 19 from No. 9, Singstar Queen debuting at No. 22, Scrabble Interactive: 2009 Edition debuting at No. 27, SOCOM: US Navy SEALS Confrontation sliding down to No. 29 from No. 11, and MadWorld debuting at No. 34.
