According to Capcom the popular Devil May Cry series has just passed the 10 million worldwide sales mark.
The first game in the series was released in 2001 while Devil May Cry 4 was released on current generation consoles in 2008. Capcom believe that the change of main characters encouraged new players to take a look at the series, leading to an impressive 2.2 million copies of the game sold.
Devil May Cry 4 has not only wooed gamers but artists too. The game walked away with an award for excellence at the Japan Game Awards 2008 and was also selected as an entertainment division jury recommended work at the 2008 Japan Media Arts Festival.
Devil May Cry fans will be happy to know that Capcom will be developing more franchise related products, such as the Devil May Cry anime which will be released on Blu-Ray at the Tokyo International Anime Fair 2009.
