EA has released the first screens for G.I. JOE The Rise of the Cobra, and it looks like the game is shaping up nicely.

G.I. JOE The Rise of the Cobra will feature 12 G.I JOE characters, each with unique abilities and weapons, as well as single screen co-op multiplayer mode where two players can team up to take down the evil COBRA organization.

Although the game is inspired by the upcoming Paramount Pictures film and picks up where the live action movie leaves off, it will feature a new storyline so we should all be able to follow along even if we don’t get round to seeing the movie.

G.I. JOE The Rise of the Cobra will be available for the Xbox 360, PS3, Wii, PS2, NDS and PSP this winter.
