In a post on the Ubisoft forums, community manager Atmon has confirmed to Far Cry 2 fans that a new ‘hardcore’ mode is on the way for the multiplayer portion of the game, which will be available in the next set of patches.
According to Atmon, the new hardcore setting will increase the amount of damage for all weapons, all weapons will have been rebalanced (both in normal and hardcore mode) and enemy names will disappear after the spawning invincibility period is over (while invincibility is shown as a shield over a player’s head).
Additionally, you will be able to tweak spawning time (but not spawning rate) and a new search option will become available in multiplayer to search for games currently playing in hardcore mode.
These changes probably mean a lot more to a hardcore Far Cry 2 multiplayer fan than most, but they seem like good decisions.
