Star Ocean 4: The Last Hope for the Xbox 360 debuts at number 1 on the Japanese software chart. According to the latest figures from Media Create, the popular Square Enix title sold 162 000 copies for the week ending the 22nd of February.
Mario & Luigi RPG 3 for the DS moves down to number 2 after entering the charts in the top spot last week. This week the popular Nintendo brothers sell 62 000 copies. Namco Bandai’s Idolmaster SP series for the PSP is new this week, Perfect Sun is third with 46 000, Missing Moon at number 4 with 39 000 and Wandering Star in fifth with 35 000 copies.
It will be interesting to see if the good sales of Star Ocean 4 will give Xbox 360 sales a boost this week, and whether the combined sales of 120 000 copies for the Idolmaster SP series will help the PSP to close the gap with the DS on the hardware chart.
Sega’s Shining Force Feather is also new this week, the DS title sells 30 000 copies to finish at number 6. Capcom’s Monster Hunter Portable 2nd G (PSP the Best) re-enters the Top 10 this week at number 7 with 18 000 copies while Flight Plan’s Sacred Blaze for the PS2 is this week’s sixth new entry, debuting at number 8 with 17 000 copies.
The PS3 version of Capcom’s Street Fighter IV drops to number 9 with 17 000 copies after debuting in second place last week. The Xbox 360 version drops out of the Top 30 completely after entering the chart at number 5 last week. Sony’s Demon’s Souls for the PS3 rounds off the Top 10, dropping two places to number 10 with 15 000 copies.
Konami’s Pro Evolution Soccer 2009 drops out of the Top 10 this week, the PSP version is at number 11 and the PS2 follows at number 13 (last week number’s 6 and 7 respectively). Tales of the World: Radiant Mythology 2 for the PSP drops from number 9 to number 14 while Final Fantasy Chrystal Chronicles: Echoes of Time for the DS loses ten places to finish at number 17.
The PSP version of Namco Bandai’s Kidou Senshi Gundam: Giren no Yabou plummets to number 15 while the PS2 version settles at number 20 after both titles debuted in the Top 10 last week.
