After ripping up the Monument Valley and The Island, the MotorStorm festival is headed to Alaska. Sony has announced that MotorStorm Arctic Edge will be arriving on the PSP and PS2 across the PAL territories in autumn.
The new setting for the latest installment of the brutal off-road racer is Alaska, which means new challenges for players such as plummeting temperatures, sudden avalanches, broken ice bridges and three different racing altitudes. Like its predecessors, Arctic Edge will feature multi-route tracks, unpredictable terrain and hostile AI.
In addition to the six existing classes from the original MotorStorm, the game introduces two new vehicles to the mix, the Snowcat and the Snow Machine. One can blast through packed snow thanks to its power and size while the other’s grip and pace is perfect to combat sub-zero conditions.
MotorStorm fans can look forward to single player action, online multiplayer or competing against 2 – 8 friends on the PSP. You will also be able to take on the leaderboards via online multiplayer using Infrastructure mode on the PSP.
Players will also be able to personalize their vehicle class for the first time ever in the series. Each vehicle has a selection of different parts, liveries and stickers to choose from. You will even be able to create your own liveries using base patterns and decals.
Developed by Bigbig Studios (known for the Pursuit Force series), MotorStorm Arctic Edge is coming exclusively to the PSP and PS2.
