Well, Wii Fit’s reign at the top of the UK All Formats Software Chart had to come to an end at some stage, and it’s taken Capcom’s latest entry to their Street Fighter series to do it.
Street Fighter IV takes the No. 1 position this week, and has become the fastest selling traditional beat ‘em up since the inception of the All Formats Chart back in 1997. 53% of sales were on the PS3, while the remaining 47% were recorded on Xbox 360. This is the third time in a row that Capcom have claimed the No. 1 spot in February, with Devil May Cry 4 and Lost Planet achieving the same chart spot in February 2008 and February 2007 respectively.
Wii Fit in No. 2 has had its sales boosted by 20% since last week, which manages to place itself ahead of another debut title on the chart this week, Warhammer 40,000: Dawn of War II on the PC, which slots into No. 3. Ben 10: Alien Force manages to hike its way up to No. 4 from No. 13 last week, while Fifa 09 is a non-mover at No. 5. Call of Duty: World at War, meanwhile, moves down to No. 6 this week from No. 4.
The SEGA Mega-Drive Ultimate Collection debuts on the chart this week at No. 7, which makes the top seven titles in the chart all from different publishers, an unusual occurrence these days. Nintendo are still out in force, though, as Mario Kart Wii and Wii Play move down two places apiece, charting at No. 8 and No. 9 respectively, while FEAR 2, which debuted at No. 2 last week, takes a slow-mo walk down to No. 10.
Other interesting movement on the chart this week includes Disney’s Bolt moving way up to No. 12 from No. 40 last week, the debut of Race Pro at No. 13, My Fitness Coach stumbling down to No. 20 from No. 8 last week, the debut of 50 Cent: Blood on the Sand at No. 22, Mystery Case Files: Millionheir drops a long way to No. 26 this week from No. 3, Puzzler Collection falls down to No. 35 from No. 22 last week, Shaun White Snowboarding moves down ten places to No. 36 this week from No. 26, Animal Crossing: Let’s Go to the City re-enters the chart at No. 37, Skate 2 moves down to No. 38 from No. 21, and Lord of the Rings: Conquest slips to No. 39 this week from No. 27 last week.
