Last week, Capcom teased that they would reveal a trailer for a new game on Xbox LIVE Marketplace on February 23rd. Well, today’s the day, and the trailer and game have been revealed to be Lost Planet 2!
Lost Planet 2 looks to be a few steps above the original, with new gameplay mechanics, such as moveable shields, a possible co-operative mode and multi-piloted Mech robots, and will also feature a few new graphics tricks used to render melting snow and jungles. The story will also differ from the first game, as the narrative is told from a variety of the Snow Pirate groups.
Lost Planet 2 is based on Capcom’s constantly upgraded MT-Framework 2.0 engine. Kenji Oguro serves as the director for the game, while Jun Takeuchi (Resident Evil 5 producer) will serve as producer.
