The new Wireless Keypad for the PS3 is now available in South Africa. You can expect to pay about R599 for the Keypad.
The Wireless Keypad is a new peripheral that snaps on to the top of a SIXAXIS or DUALSHOCK 3 wireless controller. Gamers can easily attach or remove the Keypad which makes text communication and web browsing easier and also supports text chat in PlayStation Home and other games such as LittleBigPlanet.

The Keypad includes a Touch Pad Button mode that turns the main key area into a touch pad so players need only slide their finger on this area to move the cursor on the screen and tap to enter. You will also be able to jump directly to pre-set features on XMB such as the “Friends” icon and the “Message Box” during gameplay thanks to two short cut buttons (a Communication Button and a Message Box button) on the Keypad.
The Keypad features Bluetooth functionality and can be paired to the PS3 by connecting the keypad to the USB cable that is bundled with the PS3.
We hope to get a closer look at the Wireless Keypad soon so keep an eye out for our review any day now. The PS3 Wireless Headset will also be landing on our shores soon so expect more news on that too.
