It’s starting to come as no surprise that Wii Fit rules the top of the UK All Formats Software Chart for another week, once again (and for the fifth week in a row) slotting in at No. 1, despite a 10% drop in sales.
Not even debut title, FEAR 2: Project Origin, could dislodge Wii Fit from its perch, as the horror shooter has to settle for No. 2 on the chart (although it did reach No. 1 on the Xbox 360 and PS3 chart). FEAR 2 is by far the fastest selling game of the series (including the original and the expansion packs), while 50% of the sales were recording on Xbox 360, 31% on PS3 and 19% on PC.
Call of Duty: World at War and Mystery Case Files: Millionheir swap chart placements from last week, as World at War (6% sales increase) steps down to No. 4 from No. 3 last week, and Millionheir (25% sales increase) steps up to No. 3 from No. 4. Meanwhile, Fifa 09 has a bit of a tumble to No. 5 this week from No. 2.
Mario Kart Wii and Wii Play are (once again) non-movers from last week, at No. 6 and No. 7 respectively, keeping the positions warm for about two weeks now. My Fitness Coach from Ubisoft leaps up to No. 8 from No. 17 last week after an apparent bit of retailer promotion. Professor Layton and the Curious Village slides down to No. 9 from No. 5 on the back of a 24% decrease in sales, while Mario & Sonic at the Olympic Games moves down to No. 10 from No. 9 last week after a 22% sales increase.
Other interesting movement on the chart this week includes Left 4 Dead moving up to No. 11 from No. 15 last week, Ben 10: Alien Force debuting at No. 13, The House of the Dead: Overkill debuting at No. 15, Skate 2 dropping from No. 8 last week to No. 21, Puzzler Collection Debuting at No. 22, The Lord of the Rings: Conquest falling to No. 27 this week from No. 14, LittleBigPlanet taking a trip down to No. 33 from No. 24 last week, and Sonic Unleashed running down to No. 34 from No. 25 last week.
