SEGA have let out word that independent UK developer, Rebellion, will be working on a forthcoming Aliens VS Predator (AvP) title, based on Twentieth Century Fox’s Aliens VS Predator license.
Rebellion is no stranger to the AvP franchise, having originally developed the excellent Aliens VS Predator first-person shooter for the PC (afterwhich Monolith handled the sequel), also releasing the PSP game, AvP: Requiem.
SEGA, meanwhile, are currently handling the Gearbox-developed Aliens: Colonial Marines shooter, so both parties have a vested interest in the respective licenses. Sega West CEO Naoya Tsurumi said:
“The innovative new AvP game presents an exciting opportunity for us. It represents a fantastic addition to our growing Aliens franchise and the reinvention of one of gaming’s most cherished iconic titles.
“By adjusting the release of our other Aliens titles to accommodate it, Sega will ensure that every title lives up to the high expectations of Aliens and AvP fans.”
Just what Tsurumi means by ‘adjusting the release’ is unknown, but SEGA promise to reveal further details soon.

If they do this right, it could be pretty awesome. I have to admit I am a great AvP fan....don't let us down Rebellion!
