Q-Games has announced that the fourth game in the popular PixelJunk series, PixelJunk Shooter, will be available on the PlayStation Store next week Thursday, the 10th of December. The game will be available across North America and Europe simultaneously, and ahead of Japan for those keeping tab.
PixelJunk Shooter mixes shooting and strategy elements as players navigate their way through cavernous stages in a rescue ship, taking cover behind rocks, trading fire with enemies and rescuing survivors. The game features same screen co-op (like Eden), as well as supporting custom soundtracks, the screenshot feature, PSP remote play and YouTube video uploading.
Watch this video with SCEE’s Jem Alexander and Dylan Cuthbert, President and Executive Producer of Q-Games, below to find out more about the game’s new liquids and a sneak peak at one of the boss battles:
Cuthbert has confirmed that they are busy working on a demo but that it won’t be available for a little while. “We thought it better to get the game out early rather than delay it until the demo is ready.” The game has not yet been priced but Cuthbert believes that it will be in the $9.99 pricepoint. Cuthbert also revealed that they hope to get the chance to make a sequel to the game.
