Gamers worried that the upcoming Prince of Persia film would fall prey to the videogame to film adaptation curse can breathe easy.
The first trailer for Jerry Bruckheimer’s film adaptation of Ubisoft’s ‘Prince of Persia: The Sands of Time’ has surfaced and it clearly shows that producer Bruckheimer has spared no expense, holding true to his word that it will not be one of his smaller productions.
Disney’s adaptation of Prince of Persia is being directed by Mike Newell (Harry Potter and the Goblet of Fire, Four Weddings and a Funeral) while Doug Miro and Carlo Bernard, Jordan Mechner (Prince of Persia creator) and Boaz Yakin wrote the script.
The film sees the 6th century prince Dastan (played by a beefed up Jake Gyllenhaal) joining forces with Princess Tamina (Gemma Aterton from James Bond Quantum of Solace) to prevent the Sands of Time from falling into hands of villain Nizam (Ben Kingsley).
Prince of Persia: The Sands of Time is expected to be released on the circuit on the 28th of May in the US. Watch almost two and a half minutes of the Prince of Persia adventure below. A slightly higher resolution version is available for you to gawk at here.

Looks interesting and worth watching. It's rare for games to still be good when it's in the big screen. I heard Raimi will be directing WoW too so I wish him luck. I wonder if other directors would be interested in making an Aion Online movie as well?
