According to Ubisoft’s internal estimates, Assassin’s Creed II, the publisher’s latest action adventure game which released over the week of November 17th, has gone on to sell an impressive 1.6 million units worldwide during its first week on sale.
Compared to the release of the original Assassin’s Creed in 2007, this number represents a 32% increase over that title’s launch week sales.
While a far cry from Call of Duty: Modern Warfare 2’s first week sales figures, 1.6 million units is extraordinary, and doesn’t even represent a full week of availability in most of Europe, having only released in that territory last Friday (November 20th).
