A new version of Resident Evil 5 is set to show up at retailers early next year that will include the original game, as well as all new content, such as new episodes and costumes, in the Alternative Edition that was announced at Tokyo Game Show earlier this year.
The Alternative Edition of Resident Evil 5 will be available as downloadable content (DLC), and not only includes a new gameplay episode (entitled Lost in Nightmares) featuring the adventures of Jill Valentine and Chris Redfield, and another unannounced episode, but alternative costumes for all protagonists, including Sheva.
This content will be available as separate downloads, with the first episode and the first costume pack becoming available on February 17th and 18th on the Xbox 360 and PS3 respectively, while a second costume pack and the second gameplay episode will be available on March 3rd.
Resident Evil 5: Gold Edition, on the other hand, is a physical retail box and will include a copy of the original game, the new Alternative Edition content, as well as a new version of Mercenaries Mode, called Mercenaries Reunion.
This edition of Resident Evil 5 will be available on a single (Blu-Ray) disc for the PS3, and as a disc and voucher (for the DLC) combination for the Xbox 360, on March 9th in North America, and probably very soon thereafter in Europe.
