Namco Bandai has announced that over 2.5 million copies of Tekken 6 were shipped to retailers worldwide for the launch of the game. This figure includes standard, Arcade Stick and Limited Editions of the game.
Tekken 6 launched for the Xbox 360 and PS3 across Europe and PAL territories last week Friday, the 30th of October. The game features the biggest character line up in the Tekken series history, a new Scenario Campaign mode, online fighting options as well as full time variable animation blur.
“This is a big day for us. The European market and fans have always been very important to the success of TEKKEN so we’re thrilled that TEKKEN 6 will finally be in their hands today,” said Katsuhiro Harada, TEKKEN Project Director, Namco Bandai Games Inc.
“More than 50% of TEKKEN fans worldwide are from Europe and their feedback has played a crucial role in helping to shape the game. Reflecting this, many of the new characters added are from Europe. I hope everyone enjoys TEKKEN 6 and that they continue to support the franchise, and I look forward to seeing you all online.”
