The amazing DS title, Scribblenauts, releases in the UK today, allowing gamers in the region to finally get their hands on the word play/platform game.
Scribblenauts is an incredible 2D platform game in which you’re tasked with collecting an object called a Starite in every new level, but how you get them is completely up to you as the game allows you to type in the name of almost literally any object you can think of, from wings, jetpacks and ladders, to tanks, guns, boats and animals.
Say, for example, a Starite is stuck in a tree; an elementary solution would be to type in the word ‘chainsaw’ to make a chainsaw appear, then use the chainsaw to cut down the tree and collect the Starite.
You could also summon a beaver to gnaw at the wood, a bulldozer to push the tree down (or even an elephant, come to think of it…) or perhaps even a Lightsaber (known as a laser sword in the game) to cut it down manually.
Your imagination truly is the limit!
Creative director and co-founder of developers 5TH Cell, Jeremiah Slaczka, said of his title:
“We’re very proud of Scribblenauts and the way the gameplay captures players’ creativity and takes everyday environments and objects to a new level.
“With the enthusiastic response Scribblenauts has received so far, we’re thrilled to work with Warner Bros. Interactive Entertainment in bringing the game to players everywhere.”
You really do need to see Scribblenauts in action to believe what’s possible in the game, so be sure to browse through El33tonline’s previous coverage to see some videos showing off what you can do in Scribblenauts, then hurry on down to a videogame retailer to snap it up!
