In case you missed this news last week, a new and improved version of Clover is in the pipeline. That’s after Blitz Game Studios signed the new game to the Blitz Arcade’s 1UP label, much to the delight of UK developer Binary Tweed. This makes Clover one of the first Xbox Live Indie Games to be signed up and ported to other platforms.
The enhanced revision, entitled Clover: A Curious Tale, will be heading to the PC and ‘other systems.’ The new platform-puzzle adventure will feature new animations, graphics, user-interface and effects.
It will also include new puzzles, sub-quest, multiple endings and epilogue as well as voice-acted English dialogue and regional translations. The game will also boast “context-sensitive controls and improved feel” and the piano soundtrack will be reworked and expanded.
The new plot elements, improved production values and controls will mean that gamers who played Clover, released via Xbox Live Community Games (now called Xbox Live Indie Games) in May for 400 Microsoft Points, will enjoy playing Clover: A Curious Tale as well.
Stay tuned for El33tonline’s review of Clover, coming soon, and find out more about Clover in our previous coverage.
Binary Tweed’s Daniel ‘Deejay’ Jones says: “It’s fantastic to be working with Blitz Games Studios. As stalwarts of the UK games industry, the Oliver Twins were responsible for many of the games I played growing up, giving the relationship between Binary Tweed and Blitz 1UP a common cultural background. Partnering with a company of such experience is exactly the kind of route that I hoped Xbox Live Indie Games development would make accessible.”
Chris Swan, Business Development Director for Blitz Arcade, says: “We’re delighted to have created a partnership with Binary Tweed for Clover: A Curious Tale. Daniel Jones has crafted a unique counter culture platform adventure game with an engaging and original storyline, an individual visual style and highly engaging audio. It’s a game with fantastic potential for growth on other platforms and we look forward to helping take Clover: A Curious Tale to the next level.”
