Fifa 10 has only been available since last Friday (October 2nd) and it’s already sold 1.7 million units in European territories, becoming EA’s fastest selling sports game of all time and the company’s biggest European launch ever.
Those 1.7 million units have resulted in 10 million online gaming sessions since the game’s release, with over 155 000 simultaneous online users during peak playing hours.
Peter Moore, head of EA Sports, was suitably chuffed, saying:
“We were confident that FIFA 10 would be a hit, and this week fans across Europe have shown just how much they love this game.
“We are incredibly proud of FIFA 10 and this kick-off for great, authentic football competition.”
Football… sorry, soccer enthusiasts in North America get to have a go with Fifa 10 on October 20th.
