The latest data from Media Create has just been released and it shows that the Nintendo DS remains the best-selling console in Japan for the week ending the 18th of October.
The DS sold a combined total of 51 735 units, with the DSi contributing 49 145 of that total and the DS Lite just 2 590. Sales of the DSi drop marginally from last week’s tally but the DS Lite drops roughly 2 800 units.
The PSP is in second place with 33 508 units, dropping quite substantially from last week’s 40 100. The PS3 follows with 30 231 units, placing it just 266 units ahead of the Wii in fourth place with 29 965. Sales for both the PS3 and the Wii remain steady from last week.
The Xbox 360 receives a slight sales increase this week, in fact it’s the only console to record a sales boost with 2 109 units sold. The PS2 rounds off the chart, chugging steadily along with 2 109 units.
