Metro 2033 is a new first-person shooter in development at Ukrainian development studio 4A Games, to be published by THQ, set in a post-apocalyptic world in the same vein as Fallout 3, but with tinges of horror similar to STALKER, and it’s looking fantastic.
News of a well executed combination of these two titles should be sending you into fits of excitement right… about… now!
The story and setting of Metro 2033 is based on a best-selling Russian novel (of the same name), written by Dmitry Glukhovsky, where survivors of an apocalyptic event live underground in the depths of a Moscow subway, waiting for the day that they will be able to live free of horrific mutants resulting from the fallout, and venture out into the open without fear of the poisonous wasteland above their heads.
As the protagonist Artyom, and having lived underground all of your life, you have been tasked with undertaking a perilous mission to the surface in order to warn what’s left of mankind of a looming menace, taking you from the safety of the subway, down through the forgotten catacombs below and to the desolate wasteland above.

Apparently Metro 2033 (previously known with the subhead, ‘The Last Refuge’) has been in development for quite some time by ex-STALKER developers, but was only recently picked up for publishing by THQ, which is definitely a good thing if the trailer is anything to go by.
Metro 2033 releases early next year on PC and Xbox 360.

Seriously how much like Fallout 3 can you get. This game does look good though, It wont be able to beat Fallout 3.
Most gamers are like idoit nowadays, just because it seems to having the same background doesn't mean it has something to do with FO3, 2033 is a FPS game, FO3 is RPG mix with some FPS elements, oh anyway, kids will always say hey that game is CoD or Diablo clone anyway ;) while they don't even know what is a FPS or ARPG game :P .
