No Modern Warfare 2 PC delay in South Africa, or the world

After a member of Infinity Ward, Creative Strategist Robert Bowling, finally piped up and announced that there would be no delay in release for the PC version of Call of Duty: Modern Warfare 2, a member of South African online retailer Take2 has confirmed in a Twitter post that the title is indeed set on its original release date of November 10th in the country.

The original concern of a delay for the PC version of Modern Warfare 2 stemmed from a European release list, though, so is this region still affected? If you’ll allow some backwards, strange ‘logic’ for a minute, we can muddle through this conundrum together:

Historically, South African release dates have been dictated by European release dates, with games launching either the day of, or a while after, that of the European version, which means that if the PC version of Modern Warfare 2 is releasing on November 10th in South Africa, a European release will match, or better that date.

The original release date for Modern Warfare 2 on PC for European audiences was November 10th, so that date is safe.

Similarly, game releases are usually spearheaded by a launch in North America, with a European release traditionally following behind, which means that if a European release is set for November 10th, the North American release is also safe.

Of course, if all of these Twitter entries are incorrect, all of the above ‘logic’ goes down the drain, but Twitter hasn’t let us down yet.

Hurray for Twitter, and hurray for highschool geometry!
