Call of Duty: Modern Warfare 2 doesn’t necessarily feature a full, cooperative mode in which you and some friends can move through the singleplayer experience together.
It does, however, feature a different kind of co-op mode called Spec Ops, in which you and a friend can move through a different set of challenges independent of the singleplayer experience, which is kind of similar.
The video interview below with Infinity Ward’s lead character artist, Joel Emslie, explains what’s unique about Modern Warfare 2’s Spec Ops mode, including features such as separate difficulty settings, and players dependence on one another while playing through the mode, while also showing off generous portions of gameplay:

Still no zombies unfortunatly. Hopefully there will be more map packs for WAW or I might have to buy modern warfare 2. how could you make a mode like zombies and not include something simular on your new game? Zombie mode is the only thing Ive played for several months now, a lot of my friends will be dissapointed on release date. If the reason for this is becuase it doesn't fit the theme or its to unrealistic, then I'd like to say how was it realistic to have zombies in the 40's? And are you taking out perks? a soda that you can drink to gain majical powers... And I thought getting as many gamers to play your game as possible was, or would be, your theme. Taking away something that thousands of people play every hour of every day seems like quit the misstep. Hurry up and make waw 2... With more zombies.
