It appears as though a new Indiana Jones game (that isn’t constructed out of Lego) will actually see the light of day, although not on ‘next-gen’ systems, as is the whispered rumour.
This new Indy game, Indiana Jones and the Staff of Kings, is set for a release on Wii and DS, as well as an unspecified PlayStation console (presumably PS2 or PSP), while a version for Xbox 360 and PlayStation 3 aren’t accounted for. Rumours suggest that versions for those consoles have been scrapped, as LucasArts moves away from internal game development.
Whatever the rumours, this trailer is sure to get even Indy haters at least a little enthused, even if it isn’t in-game footage:
Indiana Jones and the Staff of Kings releases ‘Spring 2009.’
