Reports indicate that there have been an enormous amount of employees let go from an internal EA studio, Black Box.
Black Box, known as the development studio for the Need For Speed series, and more recently Skate and Skate 2, is the latest victim of EA’s restructuring and cost-cutting efforts.
It is being reported that roughly 200 employees have been let go, while the remaining staff (+/- 150 employees) will be given the opportunity to relocate to other positions within EA, most likely at EA’s nearby Burnaby studio.
Earlier this week, reports arose about job losses at other EA studios, Mythic and EA Tiburon, also following EA’s announced decision to pursue cost-cutting measures and restructure the company.
