Nintendo’s Wii Play: Mario Tennis has debuted at the top of the Japanese software chart. This Nintendo classic was originally released on the GameCube and it’s clear that the reworked game is still popular with 56 000 copies sold for the week ending the 18th of January.
Megami Ibunroku: Devil Survivor, the new DS title from Atlas, enters the chart at number 2 with 55 000 copies while Namco Bandai’s Naruto: Narutimate Storm for the PS3 is the third new entry this week, debuting at number 3 with 44 000 copies.
Dissidia Final Fantasy from Square Enix drops to number 4 with 29 000 copies after dominating the top spot for the first two weeks of the year. Capcom’s Monster Hunter Portable 2nd G (Best) is at number 5, down four places from last week, with 27 000 copies while Nintendo’s Rhythm Tengoku Gold falls three places to number 6 with 25 000 copies. The popular DS rhythm game also passes the 1.5 million life-to-date sales mark.
Fallout 3 from Bethesda Softworks sells 24 000 copies to secure seventh while Wagamama Fashion: Girl’s Mode drops from last week’s number 5 to eighth with 22 000. Nintendo’s Wii Fit moves down five places to number 9 with 22 000 and DS Uranai Seikatsu, also from Nintendo, sells 20 000 copies to round off the Top 10 in tenth position.
The bottom half of last week’s Top 10 drop out of the Top 10 this week with Gran Turismo 5 Prologue Spec III at number 11, Mario Kart Wii and Gundam Musou 2 at numbers 13 and 14, Kirby Super Star Ultra at 17 and White Knight Chronicles at number 21.
