Sony has announced that a Killzone 2 demo will soon be available across North America.
Those who pre-order the game through GameStop will gain access to a demo from the 2nd of February. The publisher told MTV Multiplayer that gamers who don’t pre-order the game will only be able to download the demo from the PlayStation Network on the 26th of February, a day before the game is released in the US.
Scott Steinberg, vice president of product marketing at SCEA explained the thinking behind the pre-order bonus, “Offering a playable demo to motivate preorders speaks to our confidence in the appeal of a game such as Killzone 2. We take this approach when we are convinced that the experience will cement a consumer’s interest in purchasing.”
“We also offer demos on the PSN, which we have done in the past with great success, and will continue to make that available. Killzone 2, for example, will have a downloadable demo launch in North America the week that the game is launching, for consumers who prefer that option.”
Killzone 2 is scheduled to be released across North America exclusively on the PS3 on the 27th of February.
