Twisted Pixel has announced that The Maw will be invading Xbox Live Arcade next week, the 21st of January.

This 3D action-adventure will cost 800 Microsoft Points and sees players assuming the role of alien Frank as he tries to control the Maw, a glowing blob also known as “The Deadliest Organism in the Universe.”

This odd pair starts their journey after a Galactic Bounty Hunter ship crash lands on a strange planet with Frank and the Maw as the only survivors. Frank is afraid to travel alone so hooks the Maw to a plasma leash and sets out towards a communication tower, trying to stay a step ahead of the bounty hunters and the strange new creatures on the planet including the Gastro, Loofer, Yums, Gloobers and even Snuffles.

Incidentally The Maw won the Penny Arcade Expo (PAX 10) 2008 Audience Choice Award so it looks like we will be in for a treat next week. Check out the trailer below to see what the game is all about and to hear the catchy tune.
