Global LittleBigPlanet sales at 1.3 million
Speaking as part of Howard Stringer’s Consumer Electronics Show keynote, head of Sony Computer Entertainment Kaz Hirai revealed that the platforming, level creator game, LittleBigPlanet, has sold over 1.3 million copies worldwide so far.
Hirai also announced that roughly 300 000 levels have been created and uploaded by and for LittleBigPlanet players, while also taking the time to remind attendants that PlayStation Network now boasts 17 million users.
LittleBigPlanet is expected to continue to sell over the coming months (and years) as Sony have stated that they believe the game is more of a slow-burn seller with a long tail, rather than a monstrous binge-buy sort of game.
Hopefully they’re right.
