Are you South Africa’s greatest Guitar Hero III Legend?

If you think you are South Africa’s Guitar Hero Legend, this is your chance to prove you have what it takes. Megarom in association with The Lair will be running a Guitar Hero III: Legends Competition at rAge this year.

There will be two competitions on the go, the Ultimate Guitar Hero III Legends Competition and the Ultimate Guitar Hero III Casual competition. Head over to The Lair’s website to enter the Legends competition. The Legends competition is limited to 64 places and with 44 already taken, you shouldn’t delay to get your entry in!

Guitar Hero III Legends competition

The Legends competition will be run like a round robin tournament, with all players participating on hard difficulty until the top 16 players have been selected. These 16 players will go head-to-head until the top 2 Guitar Hero players in South Africa have been selected. The final song to be played on Sunday afternoon will be ‘Dragonforce, Through the Fire and Flames.’

First prize in the Legends competition is a 60GB Xbox 360 with a Guitar Hero World Tour Super Bundle and a set of JBL Speakers. Second place will win a copy of Guitar Hero World Tour game plus a mic and JBL Speakers while third place will walk away with a copy of the game and speakers. Fourth and fifth place winners will each win a set of JBL Speakers. The top five players will also receive an Xbox 360/PS3/Wii Faceplate for their guitars.

Aimed at a more casual gamer, the Ultimate Guitar Hero III Casual competition is also limited to 64 participants (44 spots already taken) and will be run in the same format as the Legends competition but players will participate on medium difficulty. Head over to The Lair’s website to enter the Casual competition. Although details of the prizes have yet to be announced, Megarom promises “many great prizes” so get your entry in today!

The Guitar Hero III competitions will be run on the Megarom/Microsoft/MTN main stage at rAge from the 3rd to the 5th of October. You have until the 1st of October to register for the competitions.
