Quantic Dream, known for their previous thoughtful thriller, Fahrenheit, have released some footage to show off Heavy Rain, their new game in development.
Heavy Rain’s focus will be on mature storytelling, not only in terms of the subject matter, but trying to provide a mature storytelling technique for video games. In Heavy Rain, players play the story instead of experiencing it via cut-scenes, each action affecting the unfolding story, with repercussions both seen and unseen.
The trailer shows off the amazing in-game visuals while also revealing some of the game play mechanics. Heavy Rain is sure to set the graphics bar high and will attempt to do the same as far as story delivery is concerned. It has a tentative release date of 2009 on PS3.
