Nintendo’s Super Smash Bros. Brawl has topped the UK’s All Formats Chart for another week, despite sales dropping by 48% in its second week.
The top three titles for this week are all non-movers with EA’s Battlefield: Bad Company still at number 2 and LucasArts’ Lego Indiana Jones holding on to number 3, both experiencing a 31% drop in sales.
THQ’s Big Beach Sports moves up to number 4, just 350 sales behind Lego Indiana Jones. Sega notches up two All Formats Top 10 Olympic Games, Beijing 2008 climbing four places to number 5 and Mario & Sonic at the Olympic Games re-entering the Top 10 at number 8. Take 2’s Top Spin 3 jumps two places up the chart to number 6.
Nintendo’s Wii Fit loses three places to finish at number 7 and scores Nintendo the only format-exclusive game in the Top 10. Wii Play re-enters the Top 10 at number 9 while Vivendi’s The Bourne Conspiracy moves up five places to number 10 and is the highest chart position for a movie tie-in this week.
Activision’s Kung Fu Panda is this week’s highest climber, moving up from number 40 to number 16. Nintendo’s Mario Kart Wii and Konami’s Metal Gear Solid 4 both fall out of the Top 10 this week, Mario is at number 14 and Snake at number 15 (last week numbers 7 and 6 respectively).
Unreal Tournament III re-enters the charts at number 18 thanks to the release of the Xbox 360 version while Buzz! Quiz TV, the first Buzz! game for the PS3, is Sony’s highest new entry at number 22. Pokemon Mystery Dungeon: Explorers of Time and Pokemon Mystery Dungeon: Explorers of Darkness settle into numbers 30 and 35 respectively.
