Want to partake in a bit of online Star Trek cosplay? Well, you can with the upcoming Star Trek massively multiplayer online game, in development at Cryptic Studios. A new website has just gone up with details on the game, apparently coming to PC ‘and consoles.’ Really?
Star Trek Online will allow players to become either a Federation Captain or a Klingon Warrior. Customisation options come in the form of outfitting your ship with various technologies, recruiting (and training) crew members, as well as unspecified player-generated content. You’ll be able to battle other ships in space, meet alien races or go down to the surface of planets for away missions. ‘Elegant domes of Starfleet Academy’ and the ‘Fire Caves of Bajor’ are also promised. They’d better deliver.
