Software sales also experienced a boost thanks to Japan’s Golden Week. Nintendo’s Mario Kart Wii held on to the top spot on the Japanese software chart for another week, selling 173 387 copies. Capcom’s Monster Hunter Portable 2nd G remained in second place with 102 320 copies sold.
Nintendo’s Link’s Crossbow Training (bundled with the Wii Zapper) debuted at number 3 with 92 534 copies while Wii Fit continues to keep the pace, moving up two places to fourth with 51 851 copies. The life-to-date sales of Wii Fit now stand at 1.98 million and the title is sure to cross the 2 million sales mark in the coming week.
Namco Bandai’s Taiko Drum Master DS: Seven Island Adventure drops one place to number 5 with 42 416 copies while Pokémon Ranger: Batonnage for the Nintendo DS moves up two spots to number 6 with 30 675 copies. Nintendo’s We’re Fossil Diggers for the DS remains in seventh with 26 661 copies while Sega’s Valkyria Chronicles for the PS3 drops from last week’s number 3 to number 8 with 24 422 copies.
Hudson’s Deca Sporta for the Wii moves up four places to number 9 with 24 302 copies and Nintendo’s Wii Sports climbs four spots to number 10 with 21 979 copies. This brings Wii Sports closer to the 3 million sales mark with its current life-to-date sales standing at 2.959 million.
