Rockstars’ Grand Theft Auto IV remains at number 1 on the UK’s All Formats Chart for a third week despite experiencing a 41% drop in sales. Nintendo’s Wii Fit keeps up the pace at number 2 but records a 52% drop in sales. The All Formats Top 20 sees sales of GTA IV and Wii Fit falling by the greatest margin.
Nintendo’s Mario Kart Wii is this week’s highest climber thanks to renewed stock, moving up six places to number 3, while Wii Play drops two places to number 5. Nintendo boasts three games in the All Formats Top 5 this week as well as 20 format exclusives in the All Formats Top 40. In addition 28 games in the Top 40 are selling best on Nintendo formats.
Sega claims two games in the Top 10 with Mario & Sonic at the Olympic Games at number 5 and Iron Man: The Official Videogame moving down two places to number 7. Konami’s Pro Evolution Soccer 2008 moves up one place to number 6 thanks to the release of budget versions.
Activision’s Call of Duty 4: Modern Warfare moves down two places to number 8 and Nintendo’s Dr Kawashima’s Brain Training climbs one place to number 9. Activision’s Guitar Hero III: Legends of Rock rounds off the top ten, moving up one place to number 10. Sony’s Gran Turismo 5: Prologue drops from last week’s number 8 to number 12.
Three games released two weeks ago show up for the first time in the All Formats Top 40, the highest is Disney’s High School Musical 2: Work this out! for the Nintendo DS at number 14, EA’s Boom Blox designed by Steven Spielberg for the Wii at number 21 and movie tie-in Speed Racer from Warner Bros on the Wii and NDS at number 37. The only new entry this week is Eidos’ Top Trumps: Doctor Who at number 22.
