The latest Media Create figures show that all the consoles in Japan experienced a drop in sales for the week ending the 11th of May. The PSP topped the Japanese hardware chart, selling 89 884 units but dropping the most noticeably from 100 870 units last week.
With 67 308 units sold, the Wii is closing the gap on the best-selling console in Japan. It will be interesting to see if this trend continues in the next few weeks. The Nintendo DS sold 51 228 units to land in third place, followed by the PS3 with 8 054 units. The PS2 was next with 7 464 units and the Xbox 360 in last place with 1 298 units.
