Viva Piñata: Trouble in Paradise will be released exclusively for the Xbox 360 this September.
Developed by the original Rare team behind Viva Piñata, Trouble in Paradise sees Piñata Island falling prey to Professor Pester who has wiped out Piñata Central’s computer records (how many times can you use the word piñata in one sentence?).
To rebuild the computer database players will need to send piñatas “at full candiosity” around the world. In addition players will need to build and maintain piñata gardens by attracting, protecting and managing over 100 different piñata species.
Online game play mode
Viva Piñata: Trouble in Paradise will feature cooperative and online game play modes. By plugging in a second controller, the second player will be able to use all tools, actions and activities as well as collect magic by helping. The second player will also be able to heal sick piñatas, fill a piñata candiosity meter and tinker with items by spending magic.
Not only will you be able to customize your main garden by planting trees, grass and flowers as well as digging ponds and lakes, but you will also be able to place sand and snow to welcome exotic species of piñata. Make your garden into a space center, pirate cove or haunted graveyard by using themed object packs. You will also be able to change the weather with objects and buy toys for your piñatas.
The game features 32 new species of piñata but keep a weary eye out for sour piñatas who may infiltrate the ranks to cause nonsense. Fear not because you can either tame them or turn them sweet by feeding them candy. You will also have to be careful that Pester does not block piñatas from entering your garden.
Another new feature is Piñata vision which allows players to use the Xbox Live Vision camera to interact with the game through the use of printed cards. The printed cards have a unique barcode that enables gamers to flash them before the camera and drop content into the game. Show off is a new photo mode which enables players to print and upload pictures of their garden or piñatas. The new trick stick tool enables you to teach your piñatas tricks.
Just for Fun mode
Beginners will love the Just for Fun mode which allows players to step right into the garden. This mode is less difficult because sour piñatas and weeds don’t invade your garden, your piñatas don’t get sick and money is infinite. The Player Guide System is optional and guides players through various goals.
Standard mode is trickier and requires more attention since illness, limited money, sour piñatas and weeds will be added to the mix.
