EA has announced a new game in the Skate series is headed to the Wii and Nintendo DS. Skate It is scheduled to be available in 2008.
Designed exclusively for the Wii and NDS, Skate It will see players skating with the pros in San Vanelona. The game will utilize the FlickIt controls and includes new game play features by introducing support for the Wii Balance Board.
The FlickIt controls mean that gamers can use the Wii Remote or NDS stylus to string together various tricks. The Wii Remote will become a player’s skateboard, reacting to gestures that mirror flips and moves. Step on to the Balance Board to make the experience more realistic.
“We knew it would be an exciting challenge to bring the soul and feel of skateboarding to the Wii and Nintendo DS,” said Scott Blackwood, Executive Producer - Skate franchise. “With fresh new designs and game play components built from scratch, we’ve been able to, once again, capture the true experience of skateboarding in a completely innovative way.”
In other news Skate 2 is currently in development for the PS3 and Xbox 360, so look out for it if you are a Skate fan.
